Also I was drawing someone from zoom but I couldn’t get her head at the right angle. You know what that means? More skull practice.

Wasn’t my best, need more skull practice.
I also sat down and drew one of my friends. I love this carpenter pencil but darn are the marks light. I think it’s an H or something.
I’m actually surprise that I churned this out in 10 minutes. It doesn’t have much detail but it still looks human, and I think the mouth is actually not too low this time. Have to sleep so I can’t get more portrait practice in today.

Should do more figure studies.

One of my recently discovered favorite artists, Paul Calle, states the importance of drawing from the human figure as much as possible (if I could find more figure sources). “Only through repeated practice will you be able to understand the basic structure of the human body.” I practiced some surface anatomy for artists so figure drawing can assist me in remembering the things I’ve learned. I keep forgetting the proportions. Ditto for human head.

I did a quick copy of a figure in Paul Calle’s book, “The Pencil.”

I drew another portrait but it won’t be finished until tomorrow. I’m getting faster though. Not accurate but I’m relearning some value fundementals.
